Neem leaves also help in getting rid of the itching and the termites causing scabies. One can make a Neem paste by pounding the Neem leaves with a pestle and mortar. The affected area is then washed and the paste applied. Alternatively, the Neem leaves can be boiled then a tablespoon of the solution taken every day till when the termites will be completely gone.
This works to kill the termites by burning them hence relieving scabies. A cup of cayenne pepper is added to a bathtub full of hot water. One then soaks themselves in the water till it cools. Caution should be taken to avoid the water entering your eyes. After that, rinse yourself with cool water. This should be done daily. People with sensitive skin should be cautious not to use this means.
Zinc is not necessarily used in treating scabies directly. It is necessary to help in dealing with secondary skin infections arising from scabies. Two zinc tablets are ground then mixed with water to form a paste. A little turmeric powder is also added to enhance its effectiveness.
